Dr. Jerry Peele
About The Peele Family
Dr. Jerry W. Peele has served as Senior Pastor of
Eastman
First
Baptist
Church since June, 1993. He is a native of Tifton, and married to Karen Sears Peele, a native of
Douglas. Jerry and Karen met at
Prince
Avenue
Baptist
Church in
Athens, Georgia, and were married on October 7, 1978. They have three daughters: Annalyn, Kristen, and Kellie.
Jerry was converted in November, 1972, as a freshman in college. After several years of intense discipleship and spiritual growth, he began to sense the call of God on his life to preach the gospel. He began preaching in 1977 while living in Valdosta, where he was licensed to preach by
Morningside
Baptist
Church . From Valdosta, he moved to Forth Worth,
Texas, to attend seminary and to prepare for gospel ministry as a pastor.
Jerry is a graduate of
Tift
County
High School (1972), the
University of
Georgia (BS, 1977), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div,. 1981) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min., 1992). He enjoys spending time with his girls, reading, and sports, especially football. Pastor Peele loves preaching and teaching the Word of God. He is committed to world missions, church planting, and serious discipleship through the local church.
