Nehemiah Kids (1st - 6th Grades)

for 1st - 6th Graders
Format for the evening:
6:00 - 6:40 - Track times - students get to choose a track time for the semester. They will practice in this ministry/service track and have opportunities throughout the semester to serve.
6:45 - 7:20 - Large Group time - student will meet together for a time of praise and worship, a game, and missions.
7:25 - 8:00 - Small group time - student will be assigned to a small group for the year (7-8 students to one leader). They will meet together weekly.
What is expected of the students?
Students are expected to complete their quiet times DAILY. This will help students establish a discipline for a daily quiet time. The quiet times in most cases should take five to ten minutes.
Each week on Day 6, there is a Parent Connection section that involves the parent - for every age group. The parent should also sign off on this section.
Each week there is a Bible verse that students should be working on to memorize. In the small group time, leaders will hold students accountable for completing their quiet times and for memorizing their BIble verse. Parents should also hold their child accountable for the same.
As students arrive, there will be a leader on 2nd and 3rd floor to listen to the student say their memory verse. This leader will be stationed right off the stair case on each floor. This leader will also check the devotionals. Students that have not completed their devotionals for the weeks, will take the first ten minutes of track time, in a quiet room, to work on their devotionals. Completing the devotionals will allow students to participate more fully in class discussion, but more importantly, students taking the time to do this daily are creating a habit, a discipline of spending time with God and reading His Word.
Track Time Options:
All Students - Bible Drill, Drama, Guitar, Handbells/Tonechimes, Puppets, Sign Language
3rd - 6th - Creative Arts, Kid's Praise Team
5th - 6th only - Powerpoint/Sound
