What We Believe

Eastman First Baptist Church was constituted on June 1, 1878. From humble beginnings this church has grown from eleven charter members to over one thousand members in rural Dodge County, Georgia. The first members assembled to worship, work and witness for the glory of God and the advancement of His gospel.

Today, this same biblical purpose remains the focus of this body of believers. First Baptist Church is an evangelical, God-centered, Christ-exalting, gospel-preaching Baptist church that exists to glorify God and to make disciples of the nations. In a world that is always changing and longing for more, First Baptist Church lives to worship the true and living God, to proclaim His Word and to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
